About This Blog

This is where I tell you a little about me and why I decided to make this blog.

I have been in the Optical business for 11 years. From being an O.A.(Optometric Assistant) to being a Lab Manager. Right now I am a Finishing Lab Tech. I stepped down from being a Lab Manager after my daughter was born in April 2006.

It started with an ad in the paper at a Lenscrafters and I worked for them for 6 years. I worked for ValuVision(ECCA) for 3 and 1/2 years before moving on to further my career with the Essilor Company. I love what I do. It’s an awesome job.

I wanted to make a blog about optics. I haven’t seen a lot of them out there. I want to have all the latest information in the eye care industry.

If you have a question about eye care or optics, feel free to post your question.

If you have any news, information about licensing, obtaining ABOC/NCLE credits, please post them as well.

If you are an employer and would like to list a job opening, there is a category for that as well.

I thank all of you for taking the time to check out my blog…..

I have a question about eyeglasses that I recently purchased from a reputable eye center. I have progressive lenses in silhouette frames that had improper drilling in the lenses and resulted in a terrible fit but great presciption. They agreed about the poor job they did and ordered me anew pair of lenses. When I picked them up, the Rx seemed completely different and I have such a small space to read from that I’ll be taking them back. My question is can they look at the lenses in some type of macine and see the difference between the 2 pair or am I the only one that can see this. I dread the thought of fighting to get a good pair of glasses as this is not the 1st time this has ever happened. Please advise me on this. Any help or understanding would be greatly appreciated.
